Field notes from the Thistlewood
A Summer Scoop
Our Culture desk investigates the seaside, and files this report from a deckchair.

Dispatch
It is high summer in the Thistlewood, and the residents have decamped, as is tradition, to the seaside. Your correspondent — Amuseables Sandcastle — filed this report from a deckchair, under some duress.
Findings
The Amuseables Watermelon refuses to be sliced and insists on being hugged instead. The Amuseables Lemonade is, by all accounts, unreasonably refreshing. And the Amuseables Life Ring has appointed itself Head of Safety, a role no one thought to contest.
Verdict from the sand: summer is going swimmingly. We shall remain here, ostensibly working, until the weather turns.
